Susan Sontag - On Photography Reading Summary

Photography is a momentary capture of what once was, a glimpse into the past.  It is the ultimate recording devise because it does not discriminate nor leave out even the smallest of details.  Photography has become an extension of one's memory, leaving out no such details that the memory may have actually lost over time.  It is an expectation in modern society to photograph, to record, to document.
